Changing communities in Chennai

Hello lovely people back home or wherever you are reading this from!

Another fantastic, jam-packed day here in Chennai. This morning we went shopping again to get the last few bits and bobs for our trip to Yellagiri tomorrow morning for four days! (This will mean that we wont have a blog during that time..) Then after this we went to visit two community centres called Tondiarapet and Sathuma nagar. The latter is a tiny community centre in the middle of a deprived community, yet despite its size, is the the life and soul of the community! Last year Chennai challenge literally raised the roof of this centre, which has meant that many more activities can take place there. The people we met there were so welcoming and thankful to us, which filled all of the team with lots of pride and happiness! Its amazing to see that all of the money people donate and raise in the UK can really make a huge impact on the lives and communities of people on the other side of the world.

Lots of love,

Joel x
