Monday 18th July @ 8:30pm
Screen on the Green Cinema (Highbury)
The original 1931 version of Frankenstein, directed by James Whale and starring Boris Karloff is horror at its finest. In a one off charity fundraising event, Chennai Challenge presents a screening of this chilling cult film. Join us at the Screen on the Green in Highbury for your chance to settle down in the dark and witness the horror on the big screen.
Doors open at 8.30pm with a short introduction to the film followed by the iconic movie itself. Afterwards stick around to find out if you’ve won the prize draw featuring theatre tickets, original artwork and celebrity signed merchandise. It’s all in the name of charity with all proceeds going directly to the work of Chennai Challenge.
Tickets for the event are priced at £10, to apply email email@example.com and we’ll send you instructions. The £10 includes one free entry to the draw but further entries can be purchased for £1 each.
Chennai Challenge is a small charity founded in 2007. Since then we have taken teams of up to 20 young people aged 16 and above through a self development and preparation course in readiness for a month long project in Chennai, South India. Once in India the team use the training offered in the UK to work alongside local organisations such as the YMCA and Oasis in their community development, poverty relief and youth and children’s projects, allocating funds to various projects as appropriate.
As a small charity we have no core funding and no paid staff. This means that fundraising is down to anyone who joins the team. Each team member must raise £1400 to cover their costs and to go towards providing financial support to specific projects whilst in Chennai.
The Screen on the Green is located on Upper Street in Islington, opposite Islington Green.
Nearest Tube: Angel (Northern Line)
Screen on the Green is part of the Everyman Cinema Group.
