Here at Chennai Challenge we believe in supporting local charities.  In Chennai we have the honour of calling two local organisations our partners.  We have a long standing relationship with Madras YMCA, originating from the Guildford YMCA project.  Since 2008 we have also been building a new partnership with Oasis India in Chennai.

Madras YMCA

The Madras YMCA runs 2 Higher Secondary Schools, a Boys Town home for underpriviledged and orphaned boys, 3 Community Centres amongst other projects.  When we are out in Chennai we spend a lot of time with the boys from the Boys Town, taking them on an activity holiday for 4 days!

Oasis India, Chennai

In 2008 we met up with Becky Swamickan who runs Oasis in Chennai.  Since then we have been building a partnership with them centred around the community development projects that they run.  We spend time delivering English lessons and running after school clubs with Oasis amongst other things.
